The purpose of the PGA Men's Fellowship Ministry is to "Win & Build men for Christ" through evengelism, fellowship and discipleship training.

The Men's Fellowship exists to provide an avenue for men to fellowship with each other and to grow in the knowledge of God and His will for their lives. We endeavour to be the priests of our homes, the watchmen of God's church and His representatives in our communities and the world. As such the fellowship is not limited to members only, but is deliberate in its efforts to include visitors to the church as well as the wider community. Our goals are mainly accomplished through engaging programs and activities which include workshops, debates, games, outings as well as various kinds of projects.

BACKGROUND:
COMMUNITY BIBLE STUDY (CBS) is an international discipleship program, which began in 1975 in Bethesda, Maryland. Over 500 women, from many different churches, registered to study the book of John. CBS is now active in more than 100 countries outside the USA, in 76 languages, with more than 380,000 Members.

CBS MISSION & VISION:
The Mission of Community Bible Study is 'to make disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, in our communities through caring, in-depth Bible study, available to all'.

  • Vision: 'Transformed lives'
  • Passion: 'Everyone in the world in the word'

MEMBERSHIP:
The CBS Ministry year runs for 30 weeks, with breaks that coincide with our national public holidays, and public-school calendar e.g. Christmas, Easter, summer, etc., as well as the PGA calendar. Membership requires annual registration and consistent attendance. Each Member is placed in a small group. Newcomers have an Orientation. CBS at PGA currently has 95 members.

strong>METHODOLOGY:
The CBS methodology is one that fosters discovery, growth and empowerment which is achieved by your diligence in the completion of the home study questions, commentary review, regular attendance, and application of the life principles.

ESSENTIALS:
There are 5 ESSENTIALS:

  1. Individual Study - Transformation happens as individuals engage with God in His Word. Stimulating home study questions help participants apply the timeless truths of the Bible to their daily lives.
  2. Encouraging Discussion - Participants gain additional insights and grow in their confidence with God's Word as they discuss the passage in a safe, small group setting.
  3. Effective Teaching - Trained teachers highlight and illustrate the central idea of the Bible passage and its practical application in each person's life
  4. Insightful Commentary - Respected theologians help participants understand the historical context of the passage and how it relates to the rest of Scripture.
  5. Caring Community - Caring leaders pray for and encourage participants to grow spiritually and connect with each other in a loving and supportive community.
