Kelisa Speaks “I REST MY CASE”
  • Job 13:15 (NLT)

15 God might kill me, but I have no other hope. I am going to argue my case with him.

How many of us can join with Job in saying these words? Reading a couple passages of scripture pertaining to Job pleading his innocence showed me that even though he highly reverenced God he felt comfortable enough to share his heart with God. He had many questions for God. That in itself tells me that Job obviously had an intimate connection with God.

Job’s declaration to his friends showed no doubting and I can safely say that he had a clear resolve in his spirit that no matter what God decided to do he will remain steadfast.

I examine my own life and all that I have been experiencing throughout my lifetime. Certainly nothing comes even close to what Job had experienced. So I ask myself, “Do I have such a resolve that no matter what God decides to do with me, I will trust Him?”

God needs me to be honest with Him. He needs me to not be general about how I feel or what is on my mind. If I hurt, He wants me to tell Him exactly what hurts. I believe He would want me to tell Him how angry I am because He is allowing this to happen to me. I believe that He has no problem with me questioning Him. But based on Job’s encounter, Job was able to take the approach he did because of the relationship He had with God.

    Application

    - Can you say you have such a relationship with God as Job did?

    - Will you trust God no matter what happens?

    Let Us Pray

    Abba, I will trust.
